At the beginning of the writing process for this album, I spent several weeks exploring in Rica, recording most of the field recordings that are present on the album. I've always loved the organic, natural feel that a field recording can give to a composition. For me, it is truly inspiring to be in and sense the natural world, so I seek to bring the beauty of natural sound into my music in hopes of inspiring others. One of my favorite recordings I was able to acquire is an isolated bird song that can be heard at the transition points throughout this song.
